An engagement session is a wonderful way for us to get to know each other. How you would like to use the photos? Facebook, table top or wall portrait? Save the dates, photo table numbers for your reception, guest book at your wedding? There are lots of creative ways to use the images and enjoy the portrait experience.
Are you beach people, hikers, foodies? Would you like a picturesque park or more urban cityscapes? Do you want a formal or casual look? Are we branding a color to your wedding colors? Do you want to use props? Perhaps scheduling the session the day you do your hair and make-up trials are the way to go. All things to think about but don’t feel overwhelmed. Let me assure you, I’m here for you, and will guide you comfortably through the process. It will be fun!
Pre-Wedding Bridal Session
Did you love to play dress up as a little girl? Then this session is irresistible. It takes a little pre-planning, but the results are fantastic. A pre-wedding bridal portrait is not a new idea, but it has been tucked away in the current fashion of photojournalistic photography. But just because an idea is traditional doesn’t mean it can’t be reinvented in a current and exciting way! For that matter, how about a pre session for the Groom?
Here’s how it works: we schedule a session in my studio or on location at least 8-12 weeks before your wedding day. I suggest you save your trial hair and make-up for this photo session. It’s fun to be a bride and this photo session extends the bridal experience. It’s all about you. With hair and make-up done, we’ll have a photo session in your wedding gown. No pressure, no stress, no time constraint. The brides that do this session can’t say enough about how fabulous the experience is, how special they feel and how comfortable it makes them in their gown. Mothers of the bride, especially love the dramatic results of a pre-bridal portrait. No worries about getting the dress dirty in my studio. And even if we decide to go on location, I have little tricks for making sure the dress stays clean.
Boudoir Session
Talk about feeling beautiful and sexy; it’s hard to think of a gift a man wants more than intimate photos of the woman he loves. Typically we’ll go through three outfit changes. We can do the session in my studio or on location. Often women feel a little shy at first but within minutes, you’ll be laughing, pouting for the camera and having a ball. We say it’s a gift for the groom, but honestly, it’s a gift for yourself. Who is in better shape than a bride to be? You’ve worked hard for it, splurge! With draping of fabric, good posing and great lighting, you will be surprised and delighted to see the glamorous side of yourself. I recommend a professional make-up artist for the boudoir session and will gladly provide referrals.
