Kid Portrait Photographer - Melissa MusgroveA portrait photographer taking pictures of a kid is faced with the daunting prospect of an unpredictable, albeit absolutely wonderful, subject. Undoubtedly there is tremendous joy and fulfillment in capturing the innocence, the wonder and the beauty of a kid's face in a portrait, but the inherent restlessness of kids, their inability to focus, makes it quite a challenge for the photographer. So, it takes a portrait photographer with the ability to understand and engage a kid, to take beautiful close up photographs of a child. It requires a lot of skill and considerable experience. However, it also demands quite a bit of patience and understanding to get the best out of a kid facing the camera. All my years of experience as a professional wedding & portrait photographer, first in New Jersey and then in Santa Barbara during which time I have also done quite a bit of kid portrait photography, have helped me become a better photographer of kids. And of course, being the mother of two has helped me no end in improving my skills as a child photographer.
