Child Portrait Photographer - Melissa MusgroveA child portrait photographer is faced with the daunting prospect of an unpredictable, albeit absolutely wonderful, subject. Undoubtedly there is tremendous joy and fulfillment in capturing the innocence, the wonder and the beauty of a child's face in a portrait, but the inherent restlessness of children, their inability to focus, makes it quite a challenge for the photographer. So, it takes a portrait photographer with the ability to understand and engage a child, to take beautiful close up photographs of children. It requires a lot of skill and considerable experience. However, it also demands quite a bit of patience and understanding to get the best out of a child facing the camera. All my years of experience as a professional wedding & portrait photographer, first in New Jersey and then in Santa Barbara during which time I have also done quite a bit of child portrait photography, have helped me become a better photographer of children. And of course, being the mother of two has helped me no end in improving my skills as a child photographer.
